Every worker deserves to make it home safe from work each day. And, while there is risk in any profession, for those in the pallet industry, there are many educational resources to help mitigate injury and effectively manage workplace safety.  One of which occurs tomorrow in the Windy City.

Plant managers, general managers, and CEO’s working in the pallet industry will convene in Chicago on Thursday, August 3, for the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) Regional Safety Meeting. Ideal for those who are involved in implementing and improving safety practices, this full-day educational event is led by safety experts, including a fire safety consultant and a representative from the Industrial Truck Association, the leading organization of industrial truck manufacturers and suppliers of component parts and accessories.

The program combines presentations, roundtable discussions, and a panel discussion to keep attendees engaged and informed. Among the topics covered include forklift programs, fire codes, OSHA priorities, and industry outreach strategies. There will also be opportunity to network during breakfast, lunch, and Q&A sessions with pallet manufacturing and pallet recycling colleagues.

This event is part of the NWPCA’s year-long effort to educate its members on safety in the workplace and surrounding community. According to its Web site, “Nothing is more important to members of the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) than the safety of their employees, the people who live near their facilities, and first responders.” For more information on the ‘Year of Safety,’ please visit palletcentral.com.

If you will be in town for this meeting, please stop by Rose Pallet, located in the south suburbs, to tour our office and meet with our pallet management experts. Or, contact us and we can meet you on site in Chicago.

We’d also love to know what you enjoyed most about this event and how you will use the information on the job to keep your employees and workplace safe. Please share your thoughts with our blog readers by commenting below.
