Rose Pallet president Guy Gruenberg will be speaking at the 2020 Western Pallet Association Annual Conference!
We’re proud to announce that our president Guy Gruenberg will be speaking at the Western Pallet Association Annual Conference on January 17-21 in Rancho Mirage, CA. This event will feature an outstanding lineup of speakers on topical issues as well as networking opportunities during receptions, dinners, and golf.
The Western Pallet Association is a non-profit trade association started in 1974 with a purpose to bring together professionals in material handling, including manufacturers and wholesalers, to share knowledge, create innovative ideas, discuss industry issues, and promote the wooden pallet industry. The association accomplishes this through industry meetings, seminars, and various networking opportunities.
While last year’s event addressed key issues such as automation and lumber pricing, the 2020 conference will focus on ‘building a sustainable future.’ We all know that the wooden pallet and packaging industry has had a large role in this initiative as our products are made using a renewable resource and can be recycled or remanufactured. But, how pallets and wood packaging are handled and managed throughout the supply chain has a significant impact on the environment, too. That’s why attendees can expect to hear about factors such as pallet type/size, handling, and tracking.
Guy’s presentation entitled “What’s Next? Discover New Opportunities, Uncover Your Problems, Create Options, and Execute for Success” will focus on some of these topics and other general issues. As a group, attendees will combine knowledge and expertise to address changing market conditions and industry challenges with new direction and enthusiasm. The aim is to provide attendees with strategies to help their businesses achieve day-to-day operational goals as well as ‘big picture’ ideas to make an impact on larger, social and economic sustainability goals.
The annual conference is growing each year and organizers are expecting the trend to continue in 2020. Knowledgeable and welcoming members are a large part of the draw, but content is king. And, this event delivers. So, mark your calendars now and stay tuned to our blog for the date/time of Guy’s presentation.
In the meantime, early-bird registration is now open. We hope you will register and join us in The Golden State.
The wooden pallet industry is very supportive of Earth Day, which occurs in just two days on April 22. Since its establishment over 50 years ago, Earth Day has been known to promote various sustainable practices including recycling, to which the pallet industry contributes by repairing and reconstructing used pallets as well as recycling or upcycling pallets that have reached the end of their lifecycle.
