Save the Date! Safe + Found Week August 13-19, 2018 post

The key to maintaining a successful company is to implement good business practices, which includes workplace safety. In fact, work and community safety is an important value at Rose Pallet because we believe everyone deserves to make it home safe from work each day.

Part of a safe work environment involves education. Last year in August plant managers, general managers, and CEO’s working in the pallet industry met in Chicago for the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) Regional Safety Meeting. Participants benefited from a full-day of presentations and discussions led by safety experts.

This year, the NWPCA is promoting Safe + Sound Week, occurring on August 13-19, which is an initiative of OSHA to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.

By participating in safety and health programs, businesses across the nation—including ours—can proactively identify and manage workplace hazards before they cause injury or illness. After all, a safe and healthy workforce enables higher productivity and a greater bottom line.

Outside of work, however, safety awareness is just as important. Over the years, our company has been involved in communal safety by supporting our local law enforcement agencies. Our CEO, Alan Rose, has donated to the Olympia Fields Police Department to help provide dash-cams for police squad vehicles. And he has also generously donated to the Delray Beach Police Department scholarship fund to help support college-bound children of police officers.

As a member of NWPCA, Rose Pallet plans to recognize Safe + Sound Week throughout the month of August and we encourage you to do the same. But, you don’t have to be affiliated with the Association to start your own safety awareness or health program. For ideas, resources, and other information, visit OSHA Safe + Sound.  And, as always, we welcome your feedback regarding workplace safety and health; please share your thoughts with our blog readers by commenting below.
