In just one week, we’ll celebrate July Fourth with picnics, parades, and parties all across the country. We know you’ll be outside at some point and there will probably be a few kids around or adults with a competitive spirit. Either way, you’re going to want a few games to pass the time leading up to the frenzy of fireworks. Fortunately, we’ve found some fun ways to turn an ordinary wooden pallet into the next game craze at your July Jubilee!

  1. Pallet Cornhole – use the wooden slats from used pallets to create a cornhole board that everyone can enjoy.
  2. Toss Game – similar to cornhole, but with more ways to score, this game will put guests’ hand-eye coordination to the test.
  3. Giant Jenga – Use stringer boards to create a giant Jenga set that kids and adults will gather ‘round. You can stain the boards, if desired; but, it’s not necessary…all that’s really required is a steady hand.
  4. KerPlunk – a classic from the 60s, this game is nail-biting fun and only slightly re-imagined by nailing pallet slats together to form the base.
  5. Sand Box – Little revelers will rejoice when they see this sandbox and it’s an easy project with or without the benches pictured. Just pallet wood, hammer, nails, sand, and some toys are all that’s needed to transform a pallet into a pleasing play area.

Wherever you are and whatever you end up doing this Fourth of July, we hope it’s filled with three things:  people you love, patriotism, and—of course—pallets!  Have a safe and happy Independence Day from all of us at Rose Pallet.
