Building Resilience in the Supply Chain

Today marks the kickoff to the NWPCA Annual Leadership Conference (ALC) in Carlsbad, CA. This year’s theme is Building Resilience & Sustainability into the Supply Chain.

Building Resilence &. Sustainability into the Supply Chain

The ALC Conference is always a great opportunity to make new connections, learn from experts in the field, and even get a glimpse into the best practices of other pallet companies. In 2021, the conference occurred later in the year due to the pandemic. Even with the delay, the event was attended in record numbers as attendees were eager to resume face-to-face learning and discuss the future of the industry following unprecedented material and labor shortages.

Now the conference has returned to its long-standing spring timeslot beginning today and continuing through Friday. In the spirit of the season, the event will focus on recovery and resilience. Of course, sustainability will be all the buzz. And questions shared by many attendees will be discussed including: “What does the supply chain of tomorrow look like?”; “Has the pandemic reversed globalization?”; “Will just-in-time principles be a thing of the past?”; and “What strategic sourcing decisions must be considered?”

In addition to sharing ideas and innovations with one another, participants can attend any number of educational seminars, panel discussions, and demonstrations along with a golf tournament and an auction to benefit The Pallet Foundation. Of all the seminars at this year’s meeting, we are especially looking forward to hearing about Trucking & Freight Trends to Watch” presented by Brent Hutto, Chief Relationship Officer at Truckstop.com.
