What Teamwork Looks Like in Unprecedented Times

Teamwork has taken on a new dimension in these unprecedented times. And no industry—including pallets—are exempt. Our president shares how we’re adapting to keep products and supplies moving from here to there…safely.

I have read many articles and lectured often about “teamwork” describing what it means and how to create and enhance it. But, teamwork as I’ve known and studied it has taken on a new dimension in these unprecedented times.

When I picture teamwork, I visualize people in close proximity working relentlessly to accomplish a shared goal. While the root idea is still present, we must now adapt and use remote tactics almost exclusively. Fortunately, this altered yet remarkable form of teamwork is something that our entire Rose Pallet team, customers, and supply chain are exhibiting during the current pandemic.

From our standpoint, teamwork involves carrying out our three-phase pandemic plan, which we developed weeks before it had to be enacted. Our employees have reacted to it with seriousness and a tremendous spirit of cooperation.

Our executive and administrative offices are maintaining full operations by rotating between remote workstations and coming into the office separately to do essential things like check runs and payroll. All the while we are abiding by the safe distancing and sanitary guidelines set forth by the CDC.

We have established clear lines of communication for our clients so that they can inform us when to ship and when not to ship; this really helps our operations and we are thankful for continuous updates from our customers. Indeed, pallets continue to play an important role in the supply chain and, since our company provides the entire gamut of options, we have to be constantly versatile. We are proud to say we have not missed a delivery!

Although we are all navigating this remote state of teamwork, I have personally witnessed it as a time of unity and cooperation. At Rose Pallet, our team is in supply mode—not sales mode. With that being said, if you are experiencing any supply difficulties, our team would be happy to help you or refer you to a company that can.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts again when this difficult situation is behind us. Until then, on behalf of Rose Pallet, our thoughts and prayers go out to anyone that has been directly affected by the virus. We wish you a speedy and full recovery.
