In just four days, on Sunday, October 1st, folks from all across the Chicagoland area will convene in Homewood, IL, to participate in The Cancer Support Center Annual Fall Walk of Hope.
With over 900 participants, the Walk of Hope is the ONLY Walk in the Chicago South Suburbs which raises money to provide oncology support services, at no cost, for anyone living with cancer, as well as their loved ones. The Center’s programs strive to improve and enhance the quality of life of cancer patients and their loved ones, from diagnosis to survivorship.
This year, the organizers of the Walk encourage all participants to come dressed as their favorite superhero to help defeat cancer. Rose Pallet is honored and privileged to sponsor this event, especially since our CEO and co-founder, Alan Rose, is a cancer survivor. Look for our logo on the T-shirts and programs as well as signage at the rest stop along the route!
All of us know someone who has been on or is on the cancer journey. The Center exists so that no one has to walk this journey alone. If you’re local to Chicago, we encourage you to lace up your shoes and take part in this super-fun event for an amazing cause. Your support is critical to help provide the resources needed for patients and their families who rely on The Center. Last year, due to donors, The Center’s service hours increased more than 30 percent compared to 2015. With your help, this number can grow even more. Register to Walk today!
The Cancer Support Center is a community based, volunteer driven, donor supported organization. Programs and services are always delivered by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists, and experts in a warm, welcoming and nurturing setting. In just four days, we’ll be celebrating mothers across the country for their tireless efforts and influence in our lives. Have you already thought about how you will honor your mother? Perhaps you need some inspiration for gifts? Look no further than our top DIY presents made from pallets or reclaimed wood.
