The Best Week Ever for Women Friends, Working Moms, and Wives

It’s no secret that Rose Pallet is a women-owned business, run by sisters Mia Allen and Amy Olson. But here’s something you may not know: this week you can honor women like Mia and Amy in three different ways.

Need an excuse to celebrate the ladies in your life? This week in September you can observe three holidays that acknowledge women who juggle it all. It starts tomorrow with National Working Parents Day. Then, on Sunday, our nation has dedicated the day to honor Women’s Friendship and Wife Appreciation. It’s a great excuse to celebrate your career-driven mom, cherished female confidants, or your wife. But first, a little history.

National Working Parents Day is Thursday, September 16. This day recognizes moms and dads who work hard to provide for their children. It offers the chance for kids to show appreciation and perhaps help out around the house by doing extra chores or making dinner. We’d love to hear if your kids step up or if you do anything special for your parents; comment on this post or send us an email.

National Women’s Friendship Day is Sunday, September 19. It was established in 1999 by the members of Kappa Delta sorority of Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. On this day, we suggest you gather with your women friends at your favorite restaurant or, if this isn’t possible, be sure to call or send a text. This holiday is also a great opportunity to promote the value of women in society. For example, Mia and Amy are members of the Women Presidents’ Organization and the International Association of Women, both of which do a great job elevating and inspiring women in work and life.

National Wife Appreciation Day is Sunday, September 19. This holiday is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in September. It was originally intended to honor wives in a childless marriage, but all husbands can show appreciation for their wives on this day. (FYI – Husband Appreciation Day is the third Saturday in April.)  Gifts aren’t necessary, but can be a great way to demonstrate how much your wife means to you. Click this link for our ideas.

Three occasions in one week makes it easier than ever to acknowledge wonderful people in your life. From all of us at Rose Pallet, we hope this week is triple the fun!
