Forest Management is Essential to Clean Air
May is Clean Air Month – a time to focus on ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint and make our planet greener and healthier. For this initiative, our thoughts turn to the forest.
May is Clean Air Month – a time to focus on ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint and make our planet greener and healthier. For this initiative, our thoughts turn to the forest.
As wood packaging professionals, we know the importance of working together with the forest products community to ensure the health of our nation’s forests. After all, trees are a source of oxygen, and they remove harmful gases like carbon dioxide from our air making it healthier to breathe.
That’s why Rose Pallet is proud to support The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA) and the agencies with whom they partner to advance the health of forests, clean air, and ensure material availability for pallets and other wood products.
Perhaps the number-one benefit of healthy forests is clean air and water. Beyond that, forests supply material for wood products we use in everyday living. From supplying wood for high-end products to providing small-diameter materials used by pallet manufacturers, our forests are critical to every person and virtually every industry.
For example, the demand alone from the pallet industry results in a need for forest preservation. This creates jobs for local workers in sustainable forest management and strengthens the local economy. And, of course, every human benefits from healthy forests for clean air to breathe.
To learn more, please view this short video produced by the NWPCA entitled “Wood Packaging Supports Healthy Forests, Clean Air, and Strong Communities.” In just three minutes, you’ll hear from the president and CEO of the NWPCA as well as spokespeople from a variety of agencies and nonprofits devoted to forest management, conservation, and economic development.
This May, we encourage you to be mindful of your carbon consumption and consider supporting your local forest management services. And, as always, if you’re in the market for pallets, remember that wood pallets do more than move the world, they help sustain it too. Rose Pallet is here to help!
