In just 11 days, we’ll be celebrating mothers across the country for caring, nurturing, teaching, and–most importantly–for giving us endless love and encouragement. In keeping with annual tradition, we have compiled some unique DIY gift ideas, handmade from pallets, to remind your mom how much you appreciate her. All of these crafts were found on Pinterest.

  1. Pallet Bench – An easy project, which can be completed in an hour, this bench is perfect for mom’s porch or balcony. Just buy a fitted seat cushion, add some decorative pillows, and surprise your mom with a relaxing place to read or sit quietly and reflect on her special day.
  2. Shoe Storage – What mother doesn’t need more storage for her shoes? By simply stacking pallets side by side and nailing in one slat horizontal, you can create a unique and organized space for her heels, sneakers, and flip-flops.
  3. Coffee Table – Sipping coffee is a morning ritual for many mothers. She’ll enjoy setting her cup-of-joe atop this handmade table, which also has room for her favorite magazines or photo albums (of her adoring children).
  4. Mud Room Coat Rack – Keeping the mud room tidy is an endless task for mom. This simple, but effective use of a pallet not only provides a place to hang coats, but can also be used to store folded umbrellas sideways.

Maybe you’re not the crafty type. That’s okay, too. There are now several folks that make a successful living repurposing pallets and selling their items to the masses. Of course, she can also help you with all of your pallet management needs, too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms reading this post; we hope it’s a wonderful day spent with family!
