In the spirit of Halloween, we asked our staff to share recent photos of their kids, pets, or themselves in costume. As you can see, we have many parents on staff with young babies. And, while babies can begin eating pumpkins at the age of 6 months, they can dress as one much earlier! Awww…they’re so cute!
From pumpkins, superheroes, and bumblebees to spectacularly made-up faces, our employees and their extended family know how to get in disguise. (Note: the Hollywood-inspired make-up transformations are courtesy of Lizette Zlogar of Fuse Salon and Spa in Frankfort, IL.)
Of course, it’s also the season to share some creative ways people have upcycled wooden pallets into decorations. This year, we found spooktacular pallet slat grave markers, a personalized family member sign, a bewitching scene painted on a pallet, and a scary—but simple to make—Frankenstein monster. All photos, projects, and other eerie images can be found on Pinterest.
If you want to join the pallet upcycling craze, it’s easier than you think to find suitable pallets for the project. Start with locally owned (or smaller) businesses and simply ask them if you can take their used pallet material. When you ask, be sure to explain why you are looking for their used or scrap pallets. When people are drawn in to your ghostly plans to spook your neighborhood ghouls and goblins, they are more likely to help.
If you get into the spirit by decorating your house or dressing up for Halloween, email us a photo and we’ll send you a treat! From all of us at Rose Pallet, have a safe and spooktacular Halloween.
