In just four days, we’ll be celebrating mothers across the country for their tireless efforts and for their influence in our lives. Have you already thought about how you will honor your mother? Perhaps you need some inspiration for handmade gifts? We found some awesome DIY projects using pallets on Pinterest.

From rustic-looking racks used to store spices, coffee mugs, wine, or even toiletries in the bathroom to a unique canvas for a painting, you can turn a pallet that has reached the end of its lifecycle into something mom will cherish for years to come. Even as something as simple as a sign that she can hang by her front door will serve to remind her of you whenever she heads out, most likely to run errands for you or your family members. So, don’t forget to give back to your mother for all she has sacrificed and provided for you.

If you have more time and are feeling industrious, you could attempt to build a porch swing from used pallets. Our accounting manager, Dori Fezzuoglio, favors this idea and mentioned it when she was profiled for our employee spotlight series last June. And, she isn’t alone. With summer right around the corner, mom would appreciate the opportunity to sit back, relax, and swing the day away!

Maybe you’re not the crafty type. That’s okay, too. There are now several folks that make a successful living repurposing pallets and selling their items to the masses. Of course, she can also help you with all of your pallet management needs, too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms reading this post; we hope it’s a wonderful day spent with family!
