As a woman-owned business in the pallet industry, Rose Pallet is in a minority group; but, we don’t let this fact stack against us. Rather, we embrace the opportunity to compete in the marketplace, blaze a trail, and encourage other women to enter the wonderful world of pallets. To help us along the way, we recently joined two networking associations—Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) and International Association of Women (IAW). We’re excited to participate in both in order to meet more women who are carrying the leadership load (no pun intended).

The WPO is the premier peer advisory organization connecting women who own multi-million dollar companies. In monthly meetings across six continents, chapters of 20 women presidents from diverse industries invest time and energy in each other to drive their corporations to the next level. Our co-founders Mia Allen and Amy Angellotti will take part in the Chicagoland peer advisory group to share business expertise and learn from fellow women leaders in the chapter.

networking associations

Founded in Chicago in 2017, IAW is a global network tailored to providing diverse women professionals around the world with access to networking and employment opportunities. Through over 100 local chapters, members acquire connections and knowledge to help build better work-life integration and confidence that is vital to lead in today’s workplace. Mia and Amy look forward to attending events on a regular basis as part of the Chicago Chapter.

While being a woman executive in the pallet industry can be challenging at times, it sure is a lot of fun. Among our many best practices, we know how to create a great workplace. Hopefully, our tips will inspire other women leaders. In return, we know we can gain a lot of insight into the operational success of others through both associations.
