A First-Hand Look at Pallet Production in a Record-Breaking Year
It’s been a record-breaking and challenging year for the pallet market. Next month, industry professionals will gather at the plant and examine how producers are navigating the new normal.
Plant tours are back! It’s a great opportunity for those serving in the pallet and supply chain industry to get up close and personal with the pallet repair and production process. Facilitated by the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association, the tours and expo are taking place in Huntsville, Alabama on Monday, October 25, and Tuesday, October 26.
The event kicks off with a reception and exhibits on Monday. On Tuesday, there will be two tours of pallet manufacturing plants and an evening reception with exhibitors. Both plants feature scragg mills; high-volume production of new pallets, skids, and crate; as well as pallet recycling facilities. First up is C&L Wood Products, a 60-acre plant that produces over 40,000 pallets every week followed by McVantage Group, a designer and distributor of 400 different styles of wood packaging.
Participants will see how pallets are manufactured including the state-of-the-art equipment and automation involved. They will also learn tips for handling to prolong the safe usability of pallets and best practices for recycling byproducts to prevent waste.
With tours, two receptions, and group meals, this event is a great opportunity to connect with industry colleagues from around the country, all while exploring and learning about manufacturing operational excellence.
There’s no doubt many lessons have been learned this past year. Rose Pallet is grateful for the associations who bring us continuing education and networking events with industry experts to help us overcome present hurdles and to be prepared for what is to come.
