For those working in the B2B marketplace, continuing education is easier now than ever before thanks to a variety of online learning tools which enable users to share business insights and seek input or feedback on topics related to any profession. One way the pallet industry is doing this is through monthly twitter chats, hosted by the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association. If you’re a manufacturer, supplier, or end-user of pallets, these chats can be very informative and assist in your decision-making process on the job.

#PalletChat is scheduled for the first Wednesday of every month from 1:00-2:00pm EST. During this time you can interact with people in the industry and share or discover new ideas affecting wood packaging and pallets. At the appointed day and time, login to your Twitter account and use the hashtag #PalletChat to identify the group and join the dialogue. Past topics have included lean management (reducing time, materials, and motion to improve efficiency and quality in overall operations), trends in the wood packaging industry, and labor challenges. A recent chat in February, for example, centered on the topic of Nature’s Packaging, the newest initiative to educate, promote, and market wood packaging as a sustainable source. Several users weighed in on the concept and provided positive feedback. For more information and tools to help you promote the use of wood-based packaging and pallets in your organization, check out the newly launched Web site for Nature’s Packaging at https://www.naturespackaging.org/fr/emballage-de-la-nature/.

The next online learning chat occurs on Wednesday, May 4, from 1-2pm EST. We invite you to mark your calendar and make plans to gather online. We hope to see you in the chatroom! And, as always, for questions or information about pallets or your pallet management needs, please contact the pros at Rose Pallet.
