Raising Awareness and Action for Breast Cancer
You know it’s October when spooky costumes show up in stores and buildings light up in pink. And in just a few days, the Cancer Support Center is combining both for its annual Walk of Hope.

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, but the other days in October are special as well. Throughout the entire month many businesses and pro sports teams “go pink” in support of breast cancer awareness. It’s a campaign we support with all our hearts, too, especially as a women-owned business. That’s why we’re raising awareness for a great breast cancer fundraising event in our backyard.
On Sunday, October 16th, folks from all across the Chicagoland area will convene in Homewood, IL, to participate in The Cancer Support Center Annual Pink-A-Boo Walk of Hope. As a sponsor, Rose Pallet will have a presence there too!
With over 900 participants, the Walk of Hope is the only Walk in the Chicago South Suburbs which raises money to provide oncology support services, at no cost, for anyone living with cancer, as well as their loved ones. The Center’s programs strive to improve and enhance the quality of life of cancer patients and their loved ones, from diagnosis to survivorship.
This year, the organizers of the Walk encourage all participants to come dressed in pink or a spooky Halloween costume. If you’re feeling especially creative, you can wear both!
All of us know someone who has been on or is on the cancer journey. The Center exists so that no one must walk this journey alone. If you’re local to Chicago, we encourage you to lace up your shoes and take part in this spooktacular event for an amazing cause. Your support is critical to help provide the resources needed for patients and their families who rely on The Center. Register to Walk today or, if you’re unable to participate, you can donate as well.
The Cancer Support Center is a community based, volunteer driven, donor supported organization. For more information about this nonprofit organization, please visit www.cancersupportcenter.org.
