Early next month, the Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC) kicks off its 41st Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The event starts on Sunday, May 6, and runs through Wednesday, May 9, at the Charlotte Convention Center. On the agenda are 80 educational seminars, peer-to-peer discussions, facility tours, and networking receptions.

At the expo, logistics professionals will have the chance to explore the industry’s most innovative products, technologies, and equipment— from material handling and warehouse solutions to packaging supplies, including pallet rack systems, pallets, and plastic containers.

Plus, attendees will have a rare opportunity to hear from a former fighter squadron commander and mission-ready pilot during the opening general session. Nicole Malachowski, the first woman to fly on the Air Force Thunderbirds, will share the lessons she learned during her extraordinary career, enabling her to quickly adapt and embrace change.

Of all the facility tours scheduled at this event, Rose Pallet is most curious about the Charlotte Motor Speedway; after all, it is one of the largest racetracks in America. This action-packed tour includes a visit to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage area, and a ride through two infield race tracks. Participants will also learn about the Speedway’s history. Pre-registration is required, however, and space is limited.

Warehouse Equipment Conference

We are also interested in many of the breakout sessions, but especially the peer-to-peer discussion at 10:30am on Tuesday morning focused on “Women in Supply Chain – Challenges and Opportunities.” This conversation will examine the challenges women face in a male-dominated environment. Participants will offer insights into their own experience, as well as exchange best practices for attracting and retaining women in supply chain roles. We hope you can attend the conference and, if you do, please return to this post and comment with feedback on your experience.  And, as always, for all of your pallet management needs, call on Rose Pallet; we are ready and prepared to help you for the long haul!
